Not too long ago I did a study on faith. One thing that surprised me is that the bible talks more about God's faith in us than our need to have faith in Him. There are those places of course. The israelites often lacked faith and Jesus wanted His disciples to have more of it too. But when I read scriptures with the word faith I heard about how God has faith in me.
This weekend at church the pastor talked about how God took the time to make us so He must have a great plan for us. Then I was reading The Good Wife's Guide and found that God doesn't call the skilled but He equips the called. At first both of those things sound warm and fuzzy. But I realized there is a challenge in there when I really digested it.
I need to have the faith to believe in God's faith in me. He might want big things for me. Bigger things than I can even imagine. I need the courage to step out and take the God opportunites that come my way. It doesn't matter what I think. Moses didn't think he could speak for his people but God called him. I can easily not believe that I am capable of much of anything. But that isn't God's plan. He believes in me. Will I take the opportunities no matter how scary they might be? Will I be able to know the difference between my calling and my selfish desires. Because to be honest, sometimes my selfish desires can feel just as scary.
I believe that if I can remember to pray through all situations God will guide me. I believe that if I can wrap my mind around just how much God loves me and trusts me and believes in me, I will be able to do the same thing for Him.
I will have the faith to dream bigger than what is comfortable so that there is room for God to work in my life.
